Dance Victoria is thrilled to present Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater for a special one night only performance on May 1, 2018 at 8 p.m. at the Royal Theatre - their only tour stop in Canada for 2018!
The Company grew from a now fabled March 1958 performance at the 92nd Street YM-YMHA in New York that forever changed the perception of American modern dance.
Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater has performed for an estimated 25 million people in 48 states and in 71 countries on 6 continents, earning the reputation as one of the most popular international ambassadors of American culture. Their program in Victoria will include four works that shine a light on social issues and also celebrate two jazz legends.
