Event Description
“Mashes together James Brown, the Family Stone, Otis Redding and the Memphis Horns in one slick, rock ‘n’ roll package, and tops it off with the spirit of gospel” – OTTAWA CITIZEN
Blending 60s soul fire with impassioned vocals and songwriting, St. Paul & the Broken Bones are killing it on the international music scene. Their take-no-prisoners live show has earned them legions of fans across Europe and North America. This Alabama-based 8-piece soul band is led by PAUL JANEWAY, a former bank teller whose vocals draw frequent comparisons to soul legends like Otis Redding and Al Green. During the band’s feverish performances, Janeway screams, croons and often dives into the audience. Following the success of their debut album “Half the City,” St. Paul & The Broken Bones’ critically acclaimed sophomore album “Sea of Noise” was released in 2016. This high voltage band makes its debut at TD JazzFest 2018.
