Event Description
Girlicious is an American pop group formed by Robin Antin from the reality TV show Pussycat Dolls Present: Girlicious. Before the premiere of the show, Girlicious had already started recording their debut album since the early 2008. Originally the group was to be a trio, but was conceived as a quartet, through a final decision of creator, Robin Antin. They have received more attention from the Canadian and Brazilian audiences than the U.S. Girlicious was nominated for "Breakout Group" and "Reality : Music Competition" at the Teen Choice Awards '08.
Girlicious was a part of the label Geffen Records but as of 2009, they currently are signed to Interscope Records.
Girlicious took part in a tour of North America as the opening act of the "Unbreakable Tour" with the Backstreet Boys that started on July 30, 2008 and ended September 6, 2008.
They returned to Canada to tour for the second time in 2009, with special guest Danny Fernandes. At 16 Danny Fernandes won two consecutive "Rising Star" awards in the annual CNE dance contest. He became the youngest member of the Toronto Raptor’s famed "Dance Pak" and started appearing regularly as a backup dancer in music videos. He has released three hit singles from his debut album including "Curious" featuring Juelz Santana, "Private Dancer" featuring Belly, and "Fantasy". These singles were cross over hits across Canada, and "Fantasy" the most successful peaking at #26 on the Canadian Hot 100. Private Dancer on the other hand topped the MuchMusic Countdown at #1. Danny Fernandes is currently a judge on the new TV show "Karaoke Star Jr.".
Girlicious has released a double A-side single, "Like Me" and "Stupid Shit", along with videos for each of the songs that are available on iTunes. Their debut single "Like Me" featured producer Jazze Pha and reached the number 1 spot on the iTunes top chart.
