About

Paco de Lucia

Paco de Lucia is inarguably one of the greatest living guitarists in the world and one of the great heroes of flamenco guitar. He is credited with creating a fusion style flamenco influenced by jazz.
The most innovative and influential flamenco artist of the last thirty years, de Lucia’s flamenco recordings have had a revolutionary impact, infusing new life into the art form and bringing it worldwide attention. His groundbreaking collaborations with jazz artists (John McLaughlin, Chick Corea, Larry Coryell and Al di Meola ) and his participation in notable soundtracks ( including a collaboration with Bryan Adams on the song “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman”, featured in the 1995 film Don Juan Demarco and on Adams’ full length album 18 til I die ) have brought him to the attention of a broad audience.

By adapting the past to present, Paco de Lucia has awakened a new generation to the power and appeal of flamenco. He will be making his first ever appearance in Victoria at the TD Victoria International JazzFest bringing with him his eight piece group which includes a dancer.
