Event Description

Born in Venezuela, this young Toronto-based vocalist/ songwriter can’t help but ignite audiences with her sizzling, multi-flavoured performances of Latin American melodies. Singing fluently in Spanish, Portuguese and English, Cuevas draws from many styles – the music of Venezuela, Cuba and Brazil, lots of jazz, the Latin jazz created by the great divas (Elis Regina, Flora Purim, Celia Cruz) with a little Ella Fitzgerald and Aretha Franklin too. Her hot band features Eliana Cuevas (vocals); Luis Guerra (piano); George Koller (bass); Luis Orbegoso & Daniel Stone (percussion). “She just might be the next Norah Jones” – Now Magazine
