Field Notes: Impressions from the Pacific evokes the idea of a scientific journey as seen through the eyes of a marine scientist during their career. The subtitle is also a gentle play on words that describes the primary intaglio printing process developed by the artist to capture the exquisite textural details of marine organisms. In this exhibition, Wright composes her love letter to the beautiful and strange creatures that inhabit the watery realm of the Pacific Ocean. This exhibition consists of intaglio prints, with some cyanotypes that are portraiture images of marine organisms collected from the shoreline and at sea during scientific expeditions.
