Field Reports: Four Writers Share Their Works in Progress
With Maleea Acker, Mary Bomford and Pauline Holdstock
7:30pm
From CA$0
Event Description
How do writers decide where to commit their attention and time? Are they dazzled, lured, ensnared by a subject, or is the drive from within -- a need to plumb, resolve, re-make. And how do they choose the approach – poetry, fiction, essay, hybrid – or does the form choose them? For this event, multi-genre writers and last year’s Victoria Book Prize finalists Maleea Acker, Mary Bomford, and Pauline Holdstock check in from the field. They will read from their works in progress and discuss why these works, now; the discoveries and the muck; and how the work is changing how they write and how they experience the world.
