ISABELLE BANOS (Ballsy)
Isabelle Banos is a Montreal-based producer, mixing engineer, songwriter and artist (Ballsy, Caveboy). Her music has appeared in popular TV shows and films on Netflix (Orange is the New Black, Maid), Hulu (Happiest Season), Max (The Sex Lives of College Girls) and in ads for companies like Rakuten and Ardene. Most recently, her debut single “Be Your Baby” was featured in the new Spider-verse film Madame Web. In 2020, Music Publishers Canada named her among the Top 8 emerging female producers in Canada to be welcomed into the "Women in the Studio” accelerator program. In April 2021, she opened her own studio space in Montreal called Chez Ballsy - an inclusive space for everyone to be able to create as themselves. In 2022, her work led her to become recognized as an Innovator by Keychange, a global initiative fighting for gender equality in the music industry. Isabelle is also a featured educator on LANDR's YouTube channel with over 150k subscribers, as well as a regular volunteer for the Montreal chapter of Rock Camp.
MINT SIMON
Mint Simon is the solo project of the front person of indie-pop band, Caveboy. Born & raised in Montreal, Mint is a theatre kid, turned band lead, turned pop star living somewhere on the gender spectrum of Ferris Bueller and Prince. Mint is using this as a vehicle for self-discovery and expression, as they develop their unique musical sound as a solo act while sharing their journey of self-acceptance with captivating and effortlessly catchy pop tunes. Tapping into their 80s and 90s influences, Mint’s singles have garnered support from Spotify’s ‘Night Pop’, ‘Out Now’ & the cover artist of ‘Fresh Finds’. Their music has appeared in ABC’s ‘Not Dead Yet’, Netflix Orange is the New Black & Maid, Sex Lives of College Girls (HBO), Happiest Season, and has been covered by MTV, GLAAD, Autostraddle, CBC & more.
