MONGOOSE deliver blistering, high octane energy, igniting the stage with their electrifying performances. Their hard-rocking musical assault is driven by relentless beats and incendiary guitars, with Shocore's Cory White declaring their NewMusicWest '04 set as "the best damn show of NMW!" Their new EP "Museum Of Modern Art" is a punchy, versatile sonic assault from a raucous group ready to take the world by storm. http://www.mongooserocks.com
CATLOW is the latest incarnation of Natasha Thirsk, lead singer for indie rock darlings The Dirtmitts, with instantly accessible melodies and enough eccentric charm to win over fans of The Breeders, Blonde Redhead and Rilo Kiley. "Showing her prowess on fevered, angular synth-adorned pop-rock, Thirsk posseses a voice that's as girlish and coy as Metric's Emily Haines." -- Chart Magazine http://www.boompa.ca/catlow
BONTEMPI - Hailing from Halifax and now residing in Vancouver, Bontempi plays arresting pop music full of sibling harmony, empty spaces and dark musings. The trio consists of former Plumtree members Carla and Lynette Gillis on guitar/vocals and drums respectively, along with Geoff Miller on bass and keyboards. Having borrowed the name Bontempi from a whiny keyboard, the band lets their moody music take shape with stripped-down experimental sounds and compelling 3-part harmonies. http://www.bontempi.ca
ELIAS delivers a stellar mix of dark, moody vocal melodies, original guitar riffs and haunting keyboards. Formerly known as 'Second', they recently won the first round of CiTR's Shindig 2005 band competition. The band is currently in the studio with producer Shawn Cole, so be sure to come out and hear some of their tasty new tunes! http://www.eliasband.com
