Event Description
The Paul Wainwright Band hosts a show featuring two outstanding international performers. Victoria’s masters of smooth operative funk will be joined by John Ferraro from LA and Gabriel Mark Hasselbach from Vancouver for an evening showcasing material from Wainwright’s upcoming cd release. These two top performing artists will be in town along with Grammy award winning studio engineer Dan Patton to work on tracks for the cd which is slated for release this fall on Triactive Records.
A radio distribution arrangement will see the cd released to 400 jazz radio stations around the world and on the web. The music is co-written by Wainwright and bassist Steve Duben and will appeal to contemporary and smooth jazz audiences at home and abroad. The group intends to tour the jazz festival circuit in 2006 in support of this release.
PAUL WAINWRIGHT, sax is best known for his twenty years plus with his group the Big Band Trio. Wainwright breaks new ground with this group of two years. His upcoming cd release will feature original music co-written with bassist Steve Duben. www.paulwainwright.com
JOHN FERRARO is best known for his position as drummer with Larry Carlton, one of the jazz world’s foremost guitarists. Ferraro has played on eight of his cds, and toured extensively with this top group. In addition, he has toured and recorded with Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, Boz Scaggs, David Benoit, Albert Lee and many other of the biggest names in music. Highly sought after by record producers and performers alike, he is regarded as one of the best in the biz due to his exceptional and innovative drumming style.
