Pianist Milton Schlosser presents an enchanting recital entitled “Moonlight.” Along with Beethoven’s famous sonata of the same title and Debussy’s Claire de lune, Dr. Schlosser will perform other well-known pieces by Chopin and J.S. Bach. Known for his wide interests, Milton will also play blues-infused classical works, including those by Barber and Kapustin.
Dr. Milton Schlosser possesses an award-winning university career characterized by diverse skills and continued transformation as an artist. Hailed by the Vancouver Sun as “a stylish and feeling soloist,” he has recorded five CDs, performed nationally on CBC Radio, and has performed in China, Ireland, France, Germany, the US, and Japan.
Hired as a full-time professor at the young age of 23, Dr. Schlosser was awarded the title of Professor Emeritus in 2018 from the University of Alberta. He instructed courses in all major areas of the music curriculum and served in key administrative positions. He is known for his cutting-edge perspectives, including those found in the music curricula he has designed.
Currently, Dr. Schlosser is an Adjunct Professor in the School of Music at the University of Victoria. He incorporates perspectives from neuroscience, contemplative studies, and sport psychology into his teaching, performances as a professional pianist and as an amateur triathlete.
