Experience the power of music that transcends boundaries and celebrates the richness of cultural diversity. UVic School of Music faculty musicians come together to pay homage to underrepresented composers — including people of colour and of diverse heritage and gender — who have contributed immensely to the world of classical music. This inspiring evening will feature a carefully curated selection of pieces spanning different eras and styles, including Ukranian folk songs, a work of Baroque theatre by Sebastián Durón, Trumpet Songs by Jennifer Higdon, Six Year Interlude by Serbian American composer Nebojsa Macura, selections from Ligeti's Musica Ricercata, and works by Josephine Lang arranged by Sharon and Harald Krebs. Peformers include Suzanne Snizek (flute), Merrie Klazek (trumpet), Ajtony Csaba (piano), Anne Grimm (soprano), Benjamin Butterfield (tenor) and more!
