Nathan Jacklin, Music Director
Our featured piano soloist is the wonderful Robert Holliston, an extraordinarily accomplished pianist who currently serves as the Head of Keyboard at the Victoria Conservatory of Music.
Please join us before the concert for a short, 30-minute presentation about the work being done by the Friends of Bowker Creek Society to restore this habitat for native vegetation and wildlife, and the vital role it plays in our community.
The Friends of Bowker Creek Society and students from Oak Bay High School will be on site for a pre-concert talk about the Bowker Creek Watershed, which runs across the school property, just a few steps away from the theatre. Please join us at the front doors of Oak Bay High School prior to the concert for this special presentation, beginning at 1pm. This walk-and-talk will take place just behind the school, and will be 30 minutes in length.
This concert is part of the Re-Connect Festival, supported by the Gail O'Riordan Climate & the Arts Legacy Series (through the Victoria Foundation). The Civic Orchestra is grateful for their support and encouraged by their efforts to bring attention to the climate crisis and inspire change through collaboration with artists.
A portion of concert proceeds will be donated to the Friends of Bowker Creek Society.
