Event Description
Join us on Saturday, August 5 for a showcase of avant dance programming, featuring live performances by...
NO WAY BACK (KOOSH, DANUEL TATE & THE MOLE)
In the twilight of the 80s the 707, 727, and 303 ripped through Chicago and house music was born. Join this trio of Victoria underground legends for a jam on the classic gear as they channel the electronic sounds of Chicago acid house. As the Dells party classic proclaimed there truly was “NO WAY BACK”.
CLAIRE (Montreal)
A Montrealer born and raised on the west coast, you might say that her productions are the musical manifestation of her connection to the Canadian landscape: valleys of bass, coniferous percussive elements that never fade, and dreamy, zephyr-like melodies. Claire has released on Conceptual Records, Monoclap, Archipel, Park Recordings, Hushlamb and Disco Balls.
SABRINA (Campbell River)
One of the first women to DJ electronic music in Victoria, Sabrina relocated to Toronto to attend music production school at the venerable Harris Institute. After playing out in Toronto and the lower mainland, and releasing music on Woodwork Recordings, she recently moved back to the island and is producing audio content for video games. Having graced Wonderment with ambient live performances over the years, Sabrina returns to deliver a live performance of her signature deep tech-house sound.
Presented by the Garden City Electronic Music Society and supported by the Government of Canada, the Province of British Columbia, the Capital Regional District and the City of Victoria.
Turbosound by DL Sound.
