Event Description
John Reischman and the Jaybirds return to Victoria for what Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine calls "some of the finest bluegrass and traditional music on the scene today." Their annual Bluegrass Christmas is not your typical Christmas concert, but rather a a unique offering of traditional music in keeping with the spirit of the season.
The multiple award-winning band members include the talented guitarist Patrick Sauber (Doc Watson, Richard Greene, Peter Rowan, Tim O’Brien and John Fogerty); twice-Juno-nominated banjoist Nick Hornbuckle, whose playing has been called "downright spine-tingling" (LA Daily News); fiddle player Greg Spatz ("immensely talented" - Audiophile Audition); bassist Trish Gagnon's "lilting, gorgeous voice" (Bluegrass Unlimited); and band leader Reischman, “one of the world’s undisputed masters” of the mandolin (Bluegrass Unlimited).
$5 from every ticket goes to support Our Place Society, which supports some of Victoria's must vulnerable at-risk populations.
