The Ella Fitzgerald Song Books were a series of studio albums released in the 50s and 60s, each focused on a beloved composer. On this special evening, Victoria-based vocalist, Angela Verbrugge, joins forces with bassist Joey Smith and pianist Tony Genge to pay tribute to these exceptional and influential recordings. Toronto Music Report calls Angela, “a gem of a vocalist makes all of her chosen material sound magical” while JazzTimes writes that she has “conspicuously good taste”. “Listen and be delighted. Her art is her own, and she offers rare pleasures.” (JazzLives)
