WEIRD BITCH is the new project by British princess of musical spanglement Bare Midriff AKA Vymethoxy Redspiders of Guttersnipe/Petronn Sphene/To Live and Shave in L.A. and Canadian ex-scientist Angela Medical AKA Slaylor Moon (Shearing Pinx/The Courtneys). This lesbian dream team use MPCs, synths and vocals to conjure and lose themselves in a faraway zone of deranged musical connection that is perverse and abstract in the tradition of the no wave greats, but with a deeply personal aura of violaceous sapphic dizziness. For fans of metalux, drainolith, sightings, lycia and dance music.
PETRONN SPHENE is the singular manifestation of queer punk cyborg convulsing body music known as “No Wave Rave”, likely to appeal to fans of Nervous Gender, Atari Teenage Riot, teenage Felix Kubin, Yeah You, Fat Worm of Error, ADHD/manic episodes/acid flashbacks from speedcore parties, etc. A solo project from Urocerus Gigas, the guitarist from Guttersnipe!

This event will take place on unceded Coast Salish Territories, specifically of the Lekwungen and WSÁNEĆ peoples. As we focus on building artistic and cultural bridges, we acknowledge the rich cultural history of the many peoples and rituals that have been affected by the ongoing process of dispossession and colonialism. We hold this understanding in our interactions and engagements with this land and its people.
