GAMES NIGHT FAQ:
Q. Where in the Library does Games Night happen?
A. People are welcome to gather at the tables and chairs near our front entrance, near the magazines.
Q. Does the Library have games I can try?
A. Absolutely.
Q. Can I bring my own games?
A. Please do!
Q. Can I show up on my own?
A. You can use Games Night to meet other gamers. If you're a little shy asking to join in, or if turnout is low that day, you can bet that the librarian on duty would love to spend part of their shift at the game table. Simply ask staff at the front counter.
Q. My friends and I just want to do our own thing. Is that okay?
A. Use the time however you like, with whomever you like (minding of course the Library's Rules of Conduct).
Q. What sorts of games do you have? Any for families with smaller children?
A. We have a small number of games and puzzles for younger children. Right now our collection is high on strategy games, low on young kids' games and classics, but we're always looking to add new titles.
Q. Can someone help lead us through a game? Explain things as we go?
A. We can try! The librarian on duty may or may not be familiar with the game you've brought or chosen, but sometimes figuring things out is half the fun. Go ahead and call on us (Chances are, someone else at Games Night might be willing to help too).
Q. Can we start before 5:30?
A. If your group has a plan for getting things underway early, go right ahead. Just keep in mind that other players may not be there yet, that the librarian may not be available, and that if you're really early (like 2 or 3 pm) other people using the area may expect you to keep noise to a minimum.
