Event Description

Join friends and family in Fernwood Square and the Vic High field for a two-day community celebration of music, art and community. FernFest is Friday, June 22nd from 5-10pm and Saturday, June 23rd from 9am-10pm.

On Friday evening, June 22nd from 5-10pm, Fernwood Square is transformed into a music festival with local bands, a BBQ and Phillips Beer and Merridale Cider.

On Saturday, June 23rd, the festival will kick off at 9am with a by-donation breakfast in Fernwood Square. Then, kids and families can move right along to decorate their bikes for the Kidical Mass Bike Parade that tours the neighbourhood. Saturday afternoon offers a diversity of activities with a 30+ local Artisan Markets, Kid’s Stage, kid’s activities, a cardboard castle, walking tours, interactive art projects for all ages, a Non-Profit Hub, Senior’s Tea, Silent Auction and a Market Stage. Live music, a BBQ, and beverages will be available in Fernwood Square from 12pm-10pm with a diverse line-up of amazing musicians and performers including multiple dance crews, a spoken word artist and music that ranges from bluesy Americana to R&B to disco to world beats!

Please join us for this free festival that celebrates Fernwood and beyond this Summer Solstice!
