ECM recording star Maciej Obara is Poland’s pre-eminent alto sax player, a notable Euro-jazz artist who combines mercurial lyricism, yearning balladry, and powerful, fiery post-bop playing. With a ninth CD, Unloved, recently released, Obara is touring with his long-time quartet Dominik Wania piano, Ole Morten Vaagan bass, and Gard Nilssen drums.
