Event Description
Through muscled prose and vivid poetry, writer, researcher, and geographer Sarah de Leeuw focuses in on the connections between land and people. Combining her work studying marginalized peoples’ health with the literary arts, de Leeuw’s writing in both poetry and prose is interdisciplinary, vital, and cuts close to the bone.
De Leeuw will read from her latest book of essays, Where It Hurts, as part of Open Word: Readings and Ideas on Tuesday 20 February at 7:30 p.m. The reading will be followed by a conversation with local writer and geographer Maleea Acker.
