Event Description
Inspired by the mysterious death of a young Cree woman, God's Lake is an original work of documentary theatre that addresses the issue of safety for young Indigenous women and girls living on isolated First Nation reserves. This workshop production will stage the lived experiences of people from the fly-in community of God’s Lake Narrows, Manitoba. The play uses the words of real people, verbatim from interviews conducted over six months in 2017 in the community. God's Lake is a collaboration between playwright Francesca Albright and award-winning filmmaker Kevin Lee Burton.
