Victoria BC Ska & Reggae Society is excited to present the 2nd Annual St. Paddy's Day Throwdown on St. Patrick's Day - Saturday, March 17th at V-Lounge in Victoria. Last year was such a blast we decided to do it again this year with some of our favourite ska, reggae, party bands in the Pacific Northwest & the Island.
So we decided to bring back The Sentiments from Portland, Oregon! Some of you have heard of The Sentiments as we've brought them in the past. In case you're not familiar they're a bad ass 9 piece ska/rocksteady/soul/reggae band that will keep you dancing from the first to the last note. Their last Island appearance was playing direct support to The Slackers in Dec 2016. Before that the band played at Victoria Ska & Reggae Festival at Ship Point Inner Harbour.
The Sentiments' arrival is exciting but the biggest story on this show is the fact that our favourite HILLSIDE HOOLIGANS are making a comeback taking several years off to relax and regroup. For those of you that have know the Hillside Hooligans the band consists of most of Victoria's legendary reggae/punk/ska band One Drop plus some other long time members in the Island ska/reggae scene. But if you think the fact Hillside Hooligans have been dormant for awhile must make them rusty, you're in for a surprise. During their hiatus the band has been practising consistently and recording new music. So it will be worth the wait when you see them comeback into action on St. Paddy's Day!
Rounding out this bill is Sexweather! You can't really label them with any specific genre as the band is all over the map. A mixture of rock, hip hop, punk and folk is what you'll hear presented in a Sexweather's unique way. Let's just say if you're in the mood to party Sexweather is a good band to have in your corner.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
