Jordan Tannahill will be reading as part of Open Word: Readings & Ideas, a literary series hosted by Open Space in partnership with the University of Victoria. Tannahill will read from his book Theatre of the Unimpressed: In Search of Vital Drama and his play Sunday in Sodom.
Tannahill will give three readings in Victoria:
1) Monday, February 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the University of Victoria Engineering Computer Science Building, Room 116.
2) Monday, February 6 at 1:00 p.m. at the Harry Hickman Building, Room 105.
3) Tuesday, February 7 at 7:30 p.m. at Copper Owl (1900 Douglas Street). Tannahill will be interviewed by local playwright Joan MacLeod. Note: venue change from Open Space to Copper Owl.
Jordan Tannahill is a playwright, theatre director, and filmmaker. From 2012-2016, Tannahill ran the alternative art-space Videofag in Toronto in collaboration with William Ellis. His plays and films have been presented across Canada and internationally. Tannahill received the 2014 Govenor General’s Award for Drama for his book Age of Minority: Three Solo Plays, the 2014 John Hirsch Prize for directing, a Dora Award for rihannaboi95 in 2013 and for Concord Floral in 2015, and was named Globe and Mail Canadian Artist of the Year in 2014.
