Event Description

Pays is the second feature film by director and writer Chloé Robichaud (Sarah préfère la course). It took three years for the filmmaker to flesh out her reflections on the meaning of citizenship in a changing world. Set against the backdrop of contemporary politics, the film is a portrait of three women who are committed to upholding their ideals in opposition to power. Co-produced with the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Pays was an official selection of the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in 2016. The film boasts a start-studded cast, with Macha Grenon (Danielle Richard), Emily VanCamp (Emily Price), Nathalie Doummar (Félixe), Yves Jacques, Alexandre Landry, Serge Houde, Sophie Faucher and Rémy Girard all giving fine performances.
