Event Description
Summer heat got you down? No? Who cares! This show's going to be amazing!
Altameda make the journey over the rockies for their triumphant return to the Copper Owl, sharing the stage with local heavy hitters Dirty Mountain.
Honey Rose (not the Bollywood Actress, sorry!) and Edmonton's Consilence support!
Dirty Mountain:
Hailing from Victoria BC, Dirty Mountain’s sound is heavily infused with harmony-driven melodies and timeless storytelling. Dirty Mountain is a roots-rock band with underlying blends of country and blues to support the sassy and often gritty messages portrayed in the lyrics. A musical temptress, charismatic songstress, and lyrical adulteress, Elli Hart is the relentless force behind Dirty Mountain. Keeping her in line and providing the strong prowess that runs through the music are Lane Arndt on lead guitar, Gord Light on bass, and Tom Salter on drums.
Altameda:
With songs that surprise as much as they satisfy a thirst, Altameda is combining the country drawl of Gram Parsons with the raw alt aesthetic of The Replacements.
What started as a vehicle for singer-songwriter Troy Snaterse’s solo material quickly turned into group effort to create something genuine. Despite the fact that every member of Altameda has roots in various genres, it became obvious to the group to make the music that shaped them early on. During the first recording sessions of the group’s debut LP Dirty Rain, it became clear that there was an undeniable chemistry.
Altameda quickly set out to shape their sound that blended the sincerity of the old with the unabashed grit of the new.
Honey Rose:
"Hey, let's record some music!"
"Yea, that'd be fun!"
"Hey want to play a few shows, too?"
"Why not!?"
Consilence:
Consilience is "all things dusky, dreamy, and just a little haunted" (All Our Blaring Lights). The group will transport you to dream worlds with sophisticated pop tunes that sail smoothly under Tasy Hudson's hypnotic vocals, often building to powerful crescendos under soaring lead guitar lines.
