Event Description
Leigh Square Community Arts Village presents the VOC Sweet Soul Gospel at Terry Fox Theatre on February 21st from 2:00-4:00pm.
Performing in venues all over the lower mainland for audiences that often number more than a thousand, the 130-member VOC Soul Gospel Choir has "changed lives" with its energetic, soulful performances. The choir was founded by music director, Checo Tohomaso, with the goal of uniting people of different cultures and beliefs to deliver a message of love, joy, peace, hope and healing through their common passion: singing. Delivering a high-energy, positive vibe, the dynamic choir mixes together the sounds of Soul, Gospel, R&B, Jazz, Hawaiian, Calypso, and Reggae. The animated delivery results in an audience that can’t resist joining in by toe tapping, foot stomping, jumping, singing, dancing and hand clapping!
Be sure to stay after the concert to meet the group over refreshments. For information on the choir and future performance dates, visit their website at www.vocsoulgospelchoir.com.
Tickets can be purchased by calling 604.927.7529 or visiting www.experienceit.ca. Ticket costs are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, $6 for students, children 12 and under are free. A flex pass can be purchased which offers 4 tickets for $40 (limited to 1 ticket per show).
The Sunday Coffee Concert Series continues on March 6th with Karen Flamenco’s Carmen.
The series is a great deal for a live, professional performance in an intimate, accessible, and comfortable venue at the Terry Fox Theatre. For more information, please visit www.portcoquitlam.ca/leighsquare.
