Featuring Katelyn Clark (harpsichord) and Luciane Cardassi (piano), this concert is a remarkable program of new music inspired by Louis Andriessen’s monumental 1986 composition Dubblespoor, meaning double track. The project explores the unusual combination of harpsichord and piano, presenting Andriessen’s work alongside two Canadian compositions written for the same instrumentation: Jimmie Leblanc’s Lignes d’ombre (2011) and Linda Catlin Smith’s Brocade (2013). The project also includes Saariaho’s groundbreaking Jardin Secret II, and Zampronha’s fascinating Curva ao Infinito.
