Event Description
Lee Harvey Osmond, aka Tom Wilson, is a Canadian rock legend and the progenitor of “acid-folk”. Outside of Lee Harvey Osmond, Tom Wilson is best known as the leader of the much-loved ‘90s Canadian rock group Junkhouse and as one of the three members of the roots-rock super-group Blackie and the Rodeo Kings.
Tom is touring his latest release, Beautiful Scars, which was produced by Michael Timmins (Cowboy Junkies). Beautiful Scars is a fascinating vocal journey destined to rank among the great sonic Canadian records of our time. At once evoking Howlin’ Wolf, Mike Scott, and Roy Loney, Beautiful Scars bends, twists, and distorts Tom Wilson’s deep baritone. Beautiful Scars and Lee Harvey Osmond’s previous two albums, A Quiet Evil (2010) and The Folk Sinner (2013), were all longlisted for the Polaris Music Prize. Tom has also been honoured with a six Juno Award nominations, including one for The Folk Sinner and won a Juno with Blackie and The Rodeo Kings.
The band's current touring configuration consists of Wilson on lead vocals and guitar, joined by Jesse O'Brien, Thompson Wilson, and Ray Farrugia.
Opening the evening will be Tom Wilson’s son, Thompson Wilson, a singer-songwriter and guitarist who has earned his own following as a member of Harlan Pepper.
