HEADLINING BLURRYFACE WORLD TOUR THIS FALL
Performing on the main stage at multiple festivals this summer
Twenty One Pilots, one of the most buzzed about bands of 2014, will be releasing their eagerly awaited sophomore studio album, Blurryface, on May 19, the follow up to the wildly-successful Vessel. Today fans will get a taste of what the album has in store with the “Fairly Local” video and track, which will be followed by Blurryface’s first official single, “Tear In My Heart,” on April 6. The critically acclaimed duo of Tyler Joseph (lead vocals, piano, and the band’s songwriter) and Josh Dun (drums) is taking their explosive mix of hip-hop, indie rock and punk to the next level on Blurryface, with soaring pop melodies and eclectic sonic landscapes.
Twenty One Pilots will then set out on the Blurryface World Tour opening with dates in the UK in May followed by North America this Fall. The North American leg kicks off September 8 in Washington, DC and hits major cities such as Toronto, New York, Los Angeles, the band’s hometown of Columbus, OH, and the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Colorado. The Blurryface World Tour Facebook RSVP presale begins Wednesday, March 18 at 10:00am local time, and the public on sale for most dates begins Friday, March 20 at 10:00 am local time. Ticketing information can be found on twentyonepilots.com. Joining Twenty One Pilots on the North American leg of the Blurryface World Tour will be alt-pop band Echosmith, best known for their smash hit “Cool Kids.”
In only one record cycle Twenty One Pilots have grown astronomically, emerging from clubs to main stage festival appearances. The band’s 2014 “quiet is violent tour” reached sold out audiences across the US, as well as in London, Amsterdam, Paris, Tokyo, Sydney, Mexico City and more. This summer the band will be performing on the main stage at Bonnaroo, Sasquatch, Bunbury and several other summer festivals around the world.
Twenty One Pilots’ meteoric rise since the release of Vessel saw the band named an MTV Artist To Watch, and give unforgettable live performances at the 1st annual AP Music Awards, 2014 MTV Movie Awards, and Late Night With Seth Meyers. Named #1 in Alternative Press’ 10 Essential Albums of 2013, Vessel continues to gain momentum with the highest selling week for their album occurring recently at the end of their two year album cycle, and over 300,000 copies sold, and over 1,000,000 singles sold to date.
