Event Description
Sunday, February 1st, join Lacey-Lou Tapas Lounge in celebrating 4 incredible local singer-songwriters.
They will be sharing the stage with local artist FLUKE who will be doing a live painting.
$5-10 admission
The line-up:
South of North - The music of indie/acoustic folk musician South of North, is a testament to love, longing and loss, to heartache and heartbreak. Hit songwriter Linda M. said, “South of North is a thoughtful lyricist, and bright young artist.” Smooth finger picking and percussive guitar rhythms reinforce illustrative lyrics, making you cry with one line and laugh with the next.
Quiet Stars & Quasars - is Alec Frost. The multi-instrumentalist grew up in Kamloops, BC, and began playing music at 18 years old. With a discography of over 400 songs, Alec has recently moved to Victoria, BC, lured by the legendary music scene.
Jay Davis - Jay picked up the guitar when he was eighteen and quickly began to delve into song writing.
With his guitar driven songs backed by a unique vocal style, Jay draws inspiration from life experiences, and covers the emotional spectrum in his song writing.
Simon de Laat - Obviously hates writing biographies, but his music writing skills are spot-on! His solo compositions tend to be more electronic sounding, though they almost all start on guitar and sometimes piano.
FLUKE - The name fluke comes from the artists personal belief that they have come across some profound luck with life. Everything has worked out and seemed to be nothing short of a fluke. Their abstract style is meant to be completely open for interpretation of the viewer. The reason the artist loves to paint and continues to paint is directly connected to that moment they get to stand next to another human being and ask "what do you see?" it makes every painting even more alive and worth while.
