Event Description
There’s no mistaking the chemistry when you hear the music of Vancouver’s husband and wife duo, Winsome Kind. The story of their love is almost as beautiful as their music. Scott Perrie and Leora Joy met two years ago while performing in a production of The Buddy Holly Story in Saskatchewan, and fell in love.
A year later they set out across Canada, performing on-board VIA Rail from coast to coast, along with two sold out house concerts in Toronto and Halifax. They returned home to Vancouver engaged and inspired, and just two weeks before their wedding went into the recording studio to record their debut album.
Both Scott and Leora are formidable talents. As a solo singer/songwriter, Scott released Everything Gives in 2013, which was nominated for an Independent Music Award. His former band Redgy Blackout won the Shore 104 “Best of BC” and placed in the Peak Performance Project Top 20. Leora is a member of the Juno-nominated Vancouver Chamber Choir and has appeared as a solo singer and professional actor on stages across Canada. Together, the music they create combines flowing melodies and intricate harmonies, with two exceptional voices that come together with precision and ease.
Winsome Kind is quintessentially Canadian, connecting with audiences through an endearing essence and zest for life. With deep roots in the Prairies, it was on the East Coast where the seeds were sown, and on the West Coast where the music blossomed, and they’ve embraced it all every step of the way.
