Rhythmicon refers to two things: the world's first electronic drum machine and one of Victoria BC's premiere music selectors. Known for his diversity, he stands out with distinctive sets and tracks build around melody and groove. Buying decks and starting his record collection in high school, he holds well over a decade of experience honing his craft. Through collaborations with The Big Reds, Theory Thursdays and sub|division, Rhythmicon has helped grow an exciting new bass movement in Victoria. As a sub|division resident he regularly plays packed events at their dance focused monthly parties.
While continuing to produce and play his original style of irie drum and bass and deep dubstep, his style continues to evolve. He has most recently been a core contributor to the burgeoning classic house and UK garage resurgence. Now having branched out into live PA performance, Rhythmicon is also one half of Hi-Q Sound System, a multi-instrumental dub reggae act featuring live manipulated beats, trumpet, synths, melodica and bass guitar.
JACQUES PORVEAU
JP aka Yung Bank Machine aka Dennis Merchand aka one of Victoria’s most dedicated supporters of real quality underground shit. A longstanding member of the extended sub|division family, Porveau’s acumen behind the decks results in diverse sets that connect fresh-to-death contemporary sounds with classic dancefloor templates. Watch for him, he’s the dude with a Night Slugs hat.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
