Event Description
“Now that I’m dead I know everything.” 'The Penelopiad' is Margaret Atwood’s brilliant re-imaging of Homer’s 'The Odyssey' from the wry eye of Penelope, Odysseus’s devoted and long-suffering wife. The play opens with Penelope looking back on her life from Hades. For 20 years, Penelope used cunning, and the wiles of her 12 maids, to keep her kingdom, while her husband wandered his way home from Troy. But now she has an eternity to reconsider her story and her role in the death of the maids who kept her safe... Brimming with movement, light and song, the play is a feast for the eyes and mind. Audience Advisory: This play has coarse language and some violent sexual material.
