Event Description
The masterful playing of the early acoustic blues fingerstyle guitar players is fascinating. These artists have learned to give a complete accompaniment to their vocals with strong rhythm, creative chord voicings, rhythmic complexity, catchy riffs, great licks, and clever bass-lines. This workshop is a tribute to these artists and studying this music will advance any fingerstyle guitarist.
What to expect
For each class, one carefully chosen song will be studied in depth. Accurate tabs and mp3’s (slowed down) of the chosen song will be made available. From this basis, other songs in a similar playing style will be examined and new riffs, licks, chords, and rhythms will be explored. As the workshop progresses, there will be opportunities to play and practice the songs that have been introduced. Workshop participants are encouraged to suggest songs for study.
