Carved canoes and paddles by leading artists from the islands of New Guinea and Vancouver Island combine in a celebration of traditional travel common to both cultures.
Some works in the exhibition will reference traditional pieces while others will offer a contemporary, personal take. Included will be paddles carved from red and yellow cedar, rosewood, ebony and steel. Model canoes complete with paddlers from the Northwest Coast and Papua New Guinea sit alongside bentwood boxes: essential containers for cargo on early seafaring journeys.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
