Event Description
This true story, which took place between 1701 and 1703, embodies the highest loyalty capable of members of the samurai class and dramatically illustrates the finest qualities in the samurai code of honour. It is the most celebrated example of loyalty and warrior ethics in Japanese history.
Take a tour of the exhibition with curator of Asian Art, and renowned storyteller, Barry Till.
Exhibition tours led by experienced Gallery Docents occur weekly, on Saturday and Sunday, plus the first Tuesday of the month. Tours are a great way to learn about art history, put our exhibitions into context, and delve deeper into the themes being presented. Included with Gallery admission or free with membership.
