The Alcan Quartet — violinists Laura Andriani and Nathalie Camus, violist Luc Beauchemin, and cellist David Ellis — has developed a reputation for excellence throughout Canada and internationally since its formation in 1989. Michelle Mares has been wowing audiences in Canada and Europe since she first appeared with the Mozarteum Orchestra in Salzburg, Austria, as an 11-year-old soloist. These two Canadian treasures combine forces to perform Cesar Franck’s piano quintet.The Alcans will also perform a Beethoven quartet and Montreal composer José Évangelista’s “Spanish Garland.”
