A very serious night of house flavours from 4 very serious artists who quite seriously are ready to have you seriously consider getting HOUSE INSURANCE. Did you leave the curling iron on after dolling up? Or perhaps left the dryer going now that your best shirt is wrinkle free? Is the bathtub overflowing cuz you were in a hurry to get to the dance floor? Or did you forget to turn down the heat after deciding you needed to warm up for a night on the town? Maybe there's a tripping hazard at the front door because all your best shoes are piled high after you tried them all on?

JGIRL :: Footwerk Events / Flydjs - Kelowna BC
JGirl is Jenn, an accomplished brat, a hyperactive socialite, & a former Montréaler. She has been connected with "the scene" since the mid nineties having worked closely with the Mutek team, Stereo Nightclub, The Alternator Gallery’s fashion & art shows, as well as a multitude of hip raves, swanky lounges, loft parties, & BC-style “renegade” music festivals. She has DJed a little all over; Motion Notion (2009), Elevation, Apex Project (2007), The Castle, Shambhala (2006), Hidden (2005-2006), Gorg-O-Mish (2006), Higher Ground (2005-2007), Level Nightclub & Flipside Events, Brat Production, Golden Delicious, & Fandango Farm events, to name a few. In 2005, she met Amanda Rude who had also just moved to the Okanagan. At the time, a strangely competitive & male dominant scene left them both with odd experiences, which inspired their project Flydjs; a female-focused project dedicated to keeping a positive vibe by offering DJ lessons & mentoring to inquisitive ladies & gents. They also filled a void by hosting events in a relaxed atmosphere (The Grateful Fed Cafe) creating casual opportunities for bedroom DJs & giving many their “first gig.” Her current project Footwerk Events takes place at Oasis & Gotchas nightclub in Kelowna BC. Footwerkers enjoy free-spirited vibes with the right balance of local & out-of town acts focusing on music, dance, & media art with guests like Colette & DJ Heather, Malente, Hook N Sling, Nom De Strip (of Stupid Fresh), Robb G, and BC faves Timothy Wisdom, Stickybuds, Luscious Beats, Fresh Baked DJs, & many others. On the dance floor front, JGirl is inspired equally by the soulful & sexy East coast sounds as well as that bass-heavy West Coast punch. She plays House & Techno music that is kinda Jazzy, kinda whompy, sort of Garage, sometimes dark, driving, & blippy which pleases the bassheads & the nerds alike. Her current crate favorites include Sonny Fodera, Joshua Heath, Todd Edwards, Kyle Watson, Simon Baker, Martyn, Roska, Mike Shannon, tunes on Dirty Bird, Potty Mouth, Musique Risquee & many others making her sets range from bouncy to Tecchy.

Alissa is passionate about art, cooking, clothing & costume design, music & dancing. As “Neon Sally,” she spent many sleepless nights dancing all over the interior of BC & under the stars at the Shambhala Music Festival to her favorite DJs. Alissa’s first appearance as DJ “Lyssa” took place in 2005. Having spent 11 years in Mexico, and being fortunate enough to be exposed to Latin culture, she has a strong desire to explore her roots in her musical selections. Depending on what mood we catch her in, hot summer afternoons call for deep sexy Chicago beats and bouncy latin-infused house, and on colder nights, expect anything from dirty deep organic tribal tech to quirky & fun latin tech house. She made Victoria her home in spring 2007. She has had the privilege of performing at summer festivals like Victoria Electronic Music Festival, Entheos Gathering, Uprising Media Festival and Solaris Music Festival. She has been added to Sunset Lab’s roster, and performs at some of the city’s coolest rooms & clubs, like Sunset Room, Hush, & Base Lounge.
NAOMI NICE :: Victoria
With over ten years behind the decks, DJ Naomi Nice has acquired a large variety of music over the years and has played most every club, pub and lounge in the city of Victoria. Self taught, she had her first DJ gig headlining at Lucky Bar after only 6 months behind the decks! Never a dull moment with Ms Nice behind the decks, we never know what gems she will pull out of the bag. She caters her vibe to the audience she is in front of, tossing down funky electro, super sexy house, progressive or disco funk, sometimes a little bit of old school trance beats. Locally, she has held residencies at Suze, Sauce, Temple/Salute, Canoe Club, The Office, and Glo. She was also the resident DJ at the Levi store on Government Street and has played as a live window display for many other clothing stores. No stranger to the microphone, for years she was also a Karaoke MC at Sopranos Karaoke bar. Sometimes she still pulls a microphone out of her back pocket. Her recently acquired international DJ status was gained this past summer when she travelled to Spain to play at the annual festival for the Running of the Bulls. DJ Naomi Nice is what you call a one shop DJ stop! She can do it all. Night Club, Pub, Lounge, Wedding, Art Show, Staff Party, House party ... you name it, she has done it and wants to do it again in the future.

Banff/Canmore, Alberta. First, he started a residency and promoted shows at Zona's bistro where he brought in acts from all over Canada sustaining the elctronic scene in town. It was not easy just to become known, so he had to do it the old fashioned way - throw a party. Since then, he has had the privilege of playing along side Andy Caldwell, Kaskade, Jason Hodges, Loopity Goofs, Bad Boy Bill, Luke McKeehan, Jon Delerious, Matt B, Freddy J, Kenny Glasgow, Matt C, Diamond, Vicious Vic, Robbie C, Arlen, Mark Davis, Brad Copeland, Freaky Flow, Pete Wilde, Czech, Tim Patrick, Big League Chu, Vinyl Fixx, Cary Chang, Jason Klos, Wakket, and many many more will follow. His career has taken him from Halifax to Vancouver Island, and across Canada this summer.
