Soprano’s and Absolute Underground are hosting their first annual Battle of the Bands starting April.8th at 4pm and every Sunday until the Finals June.24th. This year’s prizes will be 15 hours recording time in the Soma Studio with Eric Hogg and 100 copies of your bands own jewel cased CD, paid gigs at Soprano’s, and most of all, bragging rights. Up to $5000 in cash and prizes to be won. It is free to enter and no demo is required.
We will be accepting entry forms now until May.13th, 2012.
Entry forms are available at the Absolute Underground Store and at Soprano’s or to have one sent to you email [email protected] .
To qualify your BAND must:
-All be 19 or older.
-Have at least 2 members.
-Play real instruments, this is not for DJ's
-Live on Vancouver Island.
-Provide name, phone number, e-mail, online sample of your music
-Submit an input list with entry form by May.7th, 2012 to [email protected] .
Finals will be held in Soprano’s on Sunday June.24th, 2012. The winner of each second round night will compete in the finals.
The band voted by the crowd to be the best of the night will advance to the next round. Winners will be announced on the final night. Keep in mind, the more people bands get to attend, the more votes they will be able to acquire.
1st Place $1000 cash, 100 jewel cased CD’s, 15 hours of recording time and one paid gig of $500+ at Soprano’s.
2nd Place $500 cash and one paid gig of $500+ at Soprano’s.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
