Event Description
In as much as the Victoria Collects exhibition brings to light rarely seen artwork by international stars, it equally paints a portrait of the collectors themselves and their shared obsession. In light of these themes, join Judith Patt in an intimate discussion about the budget-friendly approach to collecting. An avid collector herself, Judith has keen insights to share with people just getting their start in collecting or looking for a different approach. Judith Patt has a Ph.D in Asian Art History from the University of Berkeley, taught at UVic and is currently active with Art Gallery of Greater Victoria, involved in collections and collaborates on research & publications including a book of Japanese art, combined with haiku with calligraphy by Michiko Warkentyne. She also studied Ikebana with the late Ikebana Masters, Theo Wiggan and Philip Sanders, and is a member of the Victoria Flower Arrangers Guild.
