Event Description
Intrepid Theatre’s newest production is local playwright Janet Munsil’s play Influence, a tale of ancient gods and new world mortals, set amongst the Elgin Marbles in the British Museum. On a visit to the museum, a young, unsuspecting John Keats wanders into the centre of a millennia-old family feud, waged by the gods of ancient Greece amidst the kidnapped statues of Athena's Parthenon.
Influence was first produced by Touchstone Theatre in Vancouver in 2008. This 2011 production provides is an exciting chance for Victoria audiences to see Munsil's latest play for the first time. Features an entirely local cast (Ian Case, Paul Terry, Elliott Loran and Karen Lee Pickett).
“A winner. . .I can’t wait for the day that Janet Munsil’s Influence will extend across the seas to be presented where it’s set, in London.” Vancouver Sun
Runs March 4-5 + 9-12, 8pm plus 2pm matinees on March 6+13.
