Vancouver hard rockers DEFAULT are celebrating the worldwide release of their fourth album Comes and Goes (EMI Canada) on October 25th with a tour of the southeast US where they have a rabidly dedicated following and the weather is fabulous. After a long wait and a record company that went bankrupt DEFAULT first released Comes and Goes in Canada a year ago and have already issued four singles domestically - "All Over Me," "Little Too Late," "Turn It On," and "Supposed to Be." Now they are set to take back the world.
DEFAULT's debut album The Fallout (TVT Records 2001), with Chad Kroeger of Nickelback co-producing and co-writing and propelled by the two huge hit singles "Wasting My Time" and "Deny," shot to the top of the North American charts, selling over a million copies in the United States and being officially certified platinum. In Canada DEFAULT won the 2002 Juno Award for Best new Group. They consolidated that success with constant live tours and the albums Elocation in 2003 and One Thing Remains in 2005. Comes and Goes is full of hook-laden choruses, thunderous drumming, powerful riffs and front man Dallas Smith's most inspiring and personal lyrics yet.
It there is one good thing to come out of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan lately it is ONE BAD SON, a four-man prairie sensation that recently moved to the west coast where they have been very well received. Default drummer Danny Craig is producing the new ONE BAD SON album and the advance single "Rustbucket," became a western radio hit, with the band being voted Group Of the Year in Saskatchewan.
Kicking off this rock & roll bargain binge is the Vancouver based six-man pulsating music machine known as SAVENONE. They are like nuclear power, built around a nucleus of hard bass and drums, flanked by two sonic guitar gods and fronted by two dynamic front men - Brooksy and Jay. Their debut album Always.Never, produced by Tim Niehaus, is startlingly good from start to finish, just like their live show.
