Bob Wiseman in 'Actionable'
Event Description
Former Blue Rodeo musician Bob Wiseman has encountered some litigious situations in his songwriting career, concerning the frequency with which his musical subject matter has been considered libelous. He’s rubbed shoulders with lawyers for Prince, lawyers for Warner Music, lawyers for Pepsi Cola, lawyers for David Geffen, and a Canadian lawyer who defends historical revisionists and members of the Ku Klux Klan. In this appearance, Mr Wiseman will be pleased to represent himself, armed with super-8 film, PowerPoint, accordion, guitar and a small casio keyboard.
Bob Wiseman is a no-good loud-mouth schnook and a former member of groups like Blue Rodeo, The Hidden Cameras and Slutarded. A producer/arranger for Ron Sexsmith, Lowest of The Low & Bruce McCulloch of Kids In The Hall, Wiseman is the winner of several Juno awards & a Lifetime Achievement Award from CBC Radio 3. He lives in Toronto where he is a filmmaker, composer and writer.
Showing as part of Uno Fest at the Metro Studio.
