Mad Pudding, one of the Rogue�s most popular bands over the years, makes a welcome return to our stage - this time at St. James Hall - for an evening of musical revelry as we celebrate 17 years of presenting the best in Celtic, Folk & Roots Music in Vancouver.
Mad Pudding celebrate their own anniversary - 10 years - with a limited edition CD of old favourites and some new recordings with the band's current line-up: founding member Andy Hillhouse on guitar and vocals, along with his bandmate in another excellent quintet - Cleia - Karla Mundy (accordion, vocals), and long time cohorts in the Pudding - bassist Boris Favre and drummer Allen Dionne. Founding fiddler, the remarkably versatile, talented and imaginative Cam Wilson (also a member of Joe Trio and the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra) makes a welcome return to the band as well.
Mad Pudding�s exuberance is contagious and makes dancing impossible to resist! They have developed a well-earned reputation for consistently exciting and entertaining live shows, performing a euphoric music that skillfully blends North American and Celtic styles with jazz, funk and world rhythms. In an evening with Mad Pudding, you will hear stunning vocal harmonies, inventive and joyful instrumental arrangements, and original songs deeply-informed by tradition but with a contemporary twist.
There will be a birthday cake, some new Rogue merchandise, an excellent choice of beverages, and some bargains at the CD table too. Bring your dancing shoes, a few friends, the whole family in fact, and join us and the Pudding for a memorable evening of Roguery!
