Organ Duets and Solos: Denis Bedard, Rachel Alflatt

Event Description

Holy Rosary Cathedral organist Denis Bedard will be joined by organist Rachel Alflatt in a varied programme of duets and solos, including Bedard’s Sinfonietta for organ duet and spectacular pedal solo Introduction & Toccata from Trois Esquisses, and a transcription of the second movement of Joseph Haydn’s “Emperor” String Quartet (2009 is the 200th anniversary of Haydn’s death). In addition to pursuing careers as soloists, and in Bedard’s case as a composer, the two have been performing as a duet for several years. This performance will be projected on a giant screen at the front of the church.
