Event Description

. Friday, Feb 27th IMU presents The OUTLIERS, LIKE A MARTYR, CITY OF GLASS & COSMEDIC @ The Media Club, 695 Cambie . Doors 8pm / Purchase advance tickets online @ www.imuproductions.com

The OUTLIERS sound is best described as a democratic roar, an eclectic offering from five musicians with often competing styles and influences from the past thirty years ranging from The Clash to The White Stripes. Ultimately, the band's diversity forms a cohesive and modern sound -- one that wagers its success and credibility on their common objective to redefine rock n' roll. http://www.myspace.com/theoutliers

LIKE A MARTYR showcase a freight train of roaring guitars, thunderous vocals and pulsating rhythms combined with shimmering harmonies, memorable melodies and the lost art of the guitar solo. Their versatile sound is influenced by the raw power of Motorhead, the stripped-down blues of Muddy Waters, the primal stomp of the White Stripes and the swagger and conviction of Bruce Springsteen. Their debut full-length "The North" is a diverse collection of powerful and memorable rock tunes that range from raucous and exuberant to emotional and reflective. Like A Martyr is an anxiety-driven neurotic, striving for perfection, drinking and laughing all the while, thumping, clapping, rejoicing, staggering and stomping to their rightful place in the rock n roll mosaic! http://www.myspace.com/likeamartyr

CITY OF GLASS play way-too-catchy indie-pop rock music that ventures into the land of Bloc Party guitars, Weezer rhythms and Snow Patrol vocals. Their songs are the kind that stay in your head and keep you awake all night... sorry about that! http://www.myapce.com/cityofglass

COSMEDIC - Melodic, intense rockers hailing from the depths of Vancouver, Cosmedic have created a solid and original sound all their own. Their first single "Without Eyes" has irresistable guitar lines, pensive lyrics and a memorable chorus. Their magnetic, seductive sound comes to life with their powerful and passionate live shows, and their recently released EP "Love Hate Machine" confirms their talent: "The songs are quirky, yet immediately relatable. The hooks are strong, and the laconic, understated vocal approach is an appealing combination." -- Taxi http://www.myspace.com/cosmedic
