The DARKEST OF THE HILLSIDE THICKETS is a rock band dedicated to promoting the literature of H.P. Lovecraft, who wrote of lost cities, tainted geneology, alien gods, and that fabled tome, The Necronomicon. While they haven't been able to get their hands on the ancient spellbook, The Thickets have their own brand of corruption: they're on a Lovecraftian binge of madness, and they mean to take you with them. They have a reputation for entrancing and inciting their live audiences with a melodic blend of energetic punk and rock while wearing graphic costumes that help bring their good-naturedly macabre songs to life. The latest Darkest of the Hillside Thickets project is "The Shadow Out of Tim" concept album, a reimagining of Lovecraft's short story "The Shadow Out of Time." http://www.thickets.net
BLOODHAG play rapid fire heavy metal songs about science fiction, fantasy and horror writers. Their mission is to spread the gospel of Edu-Core: Bang The Head That Does Not Read. Use Heavy Metal music to promote literacy and vice versa! Their book-throwing antics have lead to a tour of U.S. public libraries.
