. Friday, Oct 24th I.M.U. presents VENICE QUEEN, MAD SHADOW & The THICK OF IT . Early Show 8-11pm @ The Bourbon, 50 West Cordova . Early show 8-11pm sharp - Purchase advance tickets online @ imuproductions.com
VENICE QUEEN are a 4-piece rock band from Richmond whose inspiration is derived from countless different groups and styles, with each song naturally sounding different from the rest. While inspired by bands like Alice in Chains, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Stone Temple Pilots, Deftones and Queens of the Stone Age, they refuse to pinpoint themselves to a specific genre other than to what sounds pleasing to their ears and hopefully to others!
MAD SHADOW - Electric, charged and explosive, Mad Shadow features guitarist Danny Sveinson, who many have exclaimed will be one of the next great rock guitar legends. Bringing the thunder of heavy '70s rock into the new millennium, Mad Shadow leave crowds speechless with their style, energy and obvious talent. The combination of Danny's hook-laden riffs, singer Erik Olufson's charismatic, one-of-a-kind stage presence and the fist-pounding rhythms provided by bassist Tyler Lindgrin and drummer Josh McDonald never fail to leave the crowd wanting more. The depth of these rockers' ability to break out, sending Danny into blistering solos and jaw-dropping jams of their best known songs, is sure to drop you right in the middle of the rock and roll inferno that is Mad Shadow.
THE THICK OF IT - This acoustic rock project features Mike and Garth from Kill Rhythm, ex-Flybanger Rob Wade, and Russ Bergquist of Annihilator (Roadrunner Records). After years of slugging it out with heavier bands, Mike Johnston took a time-out to focus on some of the acoustic songs of a different colour that have haunted his soul. The result is a chance to purge and give birth to some music that is truly melodic with a touch of southern grit.
For physical events that happen at a specific time. For example a concert, or dance performance. If there are multiple shows, you can still duplicate your event to cover them all.
