The BUFFALO JUMP is Vancouver's newest supergroup, featuring lead singer Keith Greene (The Feminists), Wes Regan (Speed To Kill) on keyboards and vocals, drummer Rob Chursinoff (Tegan & Sara), bassist Ian Cook (Sweetheart) and guitarist Adam Sambla (The Philharmonic) with occasional guest appearances by Marta Jaciubek-McKeever (Girl Nobody) on vocals and Rob Caulder (Salteens) on trumpet. Their newly recorded EP was produced with local uberteam John Collins and David Carswell between studios in Portland and Los Angeles and features multi-instrumental contributions from Nic Johns (Ben Lee). www.myspace.com/thebuffalojump
BRIANA STEWART - Born and raised in Kelowna, Briana was classically trained in piano from the age of 3. Having dabbled in poetry from a very young age, her poems began to evolve into songs as she honed the ability of writing lyrics and melodies without any instrumental background. Introduced to local sensation Matthew Mei last year, the creative connection was instantaneous and Briana's songs took shape with the help of his expert ear and amazing guitar skills. They've completed her debut album "Hero of Fools" after only a few months of collaboration, but her dream has truly been years in the making. www.myspace.com/brianastewartmusic
The SHEEPDOGS are a driving rock'n'roll band complete with head-bobbing rhythms, winding solos and deluxe three part harmonies. Hailing from the prairie city of Saskatoon, this young, shaggy rock'n'roll band have played to packed houses and toured from Banff to Toronto. The band spits out howling riffs and chiming chords fronted by powerful vocals and backed by a rock-solid rhythm section. Live highlights include opening for Matt Mays and El Torpedo, headlining a Junofest 2007 bill and performing for a crowd of 30,000 at the Saskatoon Centennial Celebration. www.myspace.com/thesheepdogs
BIRDS AND KITES started life as two friends listening to old Fleetwood Mac records and making up songs in the middle of the night: a classical singer who wanted to write songs and a sound engineer who wanted to skateboard. One night they decided to make a record, and after procuring a blue acoustic guitar and their own Komrade Studios, they produced their debut EP "Forgotten". The duo captures the a warm, spontaneous feel with inviting melodies and enticing lyrics. www.myspace.com/debiwong
